Some Examples Of Stupid And Dumb People

1. Recently, when I went to McDonald's I saw on the menu that I could have an order of 6, 9 or 12 Chicken McNuggets. I asked for a half dozen nuggets. "We don't have half dozen nuggets," said the teenager at the counter. "You don't?" I replied. "We only have six, nine, or twelve," was the reply. "So I can't order a half dozen nuggets, but I can order six?" "That's right." So I shook my head and ordered six McNuggets.

2. I was checking out at the local Wal-Mart with just a few items and the lady behind me put her things on the belt close to mine. I picked up one of those "dividers" that they keep by the cash register and placed it between our things so they wouldn't get mixed. After the girl had scanned all of my items, she picked up the "divider", looking it all over for the bar code so she could scan it. Not finding the bar code she said to me, "Do you know how much this is?" I said to her "I've changed my mind, I don't think I'll buy that today." She said "OK," and I paid her for the things and left. She had no clue to what had just happened.

3. A lady at work was seen putting a credit card into her floppy drive and pulling it out very quickly. When I inquired as to what she was doing, she said she was shopping on the Internet and they kept asking for a credit card number, so she was using the ATM "thingy."

4. I recently saw a distraught young lady weeping beside her car. "Do you need some help?" I asked. She replied, "I knew I should have replaced the battery to this remote door unlocker. Now I can't get into my car. Do you think they (pointing to a distant convenience store) would have a battery to fit this?" "Hmmm, I dunno. Do you have an alarm, too?" I asked. "No, just this remote thingy," she answered, handing it and the car keys to me. As I took the key and manually unlocked the door, I replied, "Why don't you drive over there and check about the batteries. It's a long walk."

5. Several years ago, we had an Intern who was none too swift. One day she was typing and turned to a secretary and said, "I'm almost out of typing paper. What do I do?" "Just use copier machine paper," the secretary told her. With that, the intern took her last remaining blank piece of paper, put it on the photocopier and proceeded to make five "blank" copies.

6. I was in a car dealership a while ago, when a large motor home was towed into the garage. The front of the vehicle was in dire need of repair and the whole thing generally looked like an extra in "Twister." I asked the manager what had happened. He told me that the driver had set the "cruise control" and then went in the back to make a sandwich.

7. My neighbour works in the operations department in the central office of a large bank. Employees in the field call him when they have problems with their computers. One night he got a call from a woman in one of the branch banks who had this question: "I've got smoke coming from the back of my terminal. Do you guys have a fire downtown?"

8. Police in Radnor, PA, interrogated a suspect by placing a metal colander on his head and connecting it with wires to a photocopy machine. The message "He's lying" was placed in the copier, and police pressed the copy button each time they thought the suspect wasn't telling the truth. Believing the "lie detector" was working, the suspect confessed.

9. A mother calls 911 very worried asking the dispatcher if she needs to take her kid to the emergency room, the kid was eating ants. The dispatcher tells her to give the kid some Benadryl and should be fine, the mother says, I just gave him some ant killer..... Dispatcher: Rush him in to emergency.

Go shoot yourself - Middle School Teacher To 6th Grader Student

Lawton Middle School teacher has been disciplined

A teacher at Lawton Middle School in Van Buren County has been disciplined for telling a sixth-grade boy to "go shoot himself," according to the district's superintendent.

"We did have an incident where a 32-year veteran teacher, who has an impeccable record, got frustrated with the class and was trying to quiet it down," said Joseph Trimboli, the Lawton Community Schools superintendent.

"The teacher shared with me that it was a moment of frustration. She was about to swear and she caught herself. She was grasping for words. She was trying to tell the kid to stop this. Instead, she ended up saying what she said."

What she said, Trimboli told 24 Hour News 8, was "you should go shoot yourself."

She also threatened to lock students in a detention room, and slammed the door in frustration, according to the district.

"It definitely was not intended for him to actually go and do this," Trimboli said.

The district did "admonish" the teacher, he added, although it did not suspend her or give her any time out of the classroom.

The district "dealt with (the incident) in accordance with policy," Trimboli said.

But the boy's family believes her punishment should be harsher.

"Teachers know better," said Brian Melson, Nathan Melson's father.

Added his mother, Pam Melson: "If she would have said it to the wrong child, it could have been a real bad tragedy."

The teacher made the comment in early December 2010. The sixth-grader's parents came to him two weeks later with a letter to the school board, he added. Trimboli spoke with the parents at that time and thought the issue was resolved. But then, on Monday of this week, Brian Melson showed up and "demanded" the teacher be fired.

"We don't need that in this community," he said.

At the very least, the Melsons want to see the teacher suspended without pay.

"I can't explain how it makes me feel, that somebody said that to my child," Pam Melson said.

Trimboli offered to move the child out of the teacher's class, he said, but the father refused. The family is talking about rallying, or circulating a petition, calling for the district to do something more.

The teacher -- whose name won't be released by 24 Hour News 8 -- apologized to the class and to the student the day after making the comment. Trimboli said he, too, spoke with the student.

"I told him that sometimes adults do unfortunate things and this was one of them," he said. "I didn't want him to take it personally. The kid seemed OK with it. I think the father just won't let it die.

"I feel bad that any adult would ever make a comment to a kid such as that. You hate to see a 12-year-old -- and they're fragile at that age -- have to hear something like that from an adult."

But, the superintendent said, he also feels bad for the teacher, who Trimboli said has an impeccable record with not a single disciplinary action in her file.

"I know that we've admonished the teacher according to procedure and it's time to move on," he said.

News 8 tried to contact the teacher over the phone and at her home, but has not heard back.

"She's usually fine," Nathan said.

Added Pam Melson: "I know she's a good teacher -- I had her myself."

Brock Lesnar Humiliated In UFC Boxing Match

Brock Lesnar HumiliatedWhen Cain Velasquez pummeled and humiliated Brock Lesnar at UFC 121 last Saturday, he also unintentionally notched a huge point in favor of boxing in the ongoing virtual war between MMA and boxing.

It was an easy fight to view and analyze, even for a relative stranger to the sport of MMA and to the UFC brand.

Lesnar came out fast and hard, trying to use his size, brute strength, and wrestling expertise to get Velasquez on his back and under the full weight of his massive frame.

When his opponent blocked the take downs and the actual fighting started, Lesnar was clueless.

The California native, Velasquez, pounded a panicked and exhausted Lesnar into a bloody mess and forced the referee to call an end to the fight with just under fifty seconds left in the first round.

More salient, informed points have already been made by Ryan Kennedy of Fight Hype, but what we learned from this fight, as it pertains to boxing, is that a quality boxer would really just need one skill, the ability to block a take down, in order to handle the best of the MMA crop. However, the MMA-fighter, in most instances, would need to learn an entire discipline in order to hang with boxing’s best.

Throw out the freak show of Randy Couture vs. James Toney, as it was genetically-engineered by Dana White to make boxing look bad, Velasquez-Lesnar showed us the difference between fighting and combat. When forced to dig deep down inside and come back, the UFC’s “Baddest Man on the Planet” had nothing.

Aside from the obvious and well-traveled boxer vs. MMA fighter debate, the Lesnar beating also may have further exposed some of the negative aspects of the UFC juggernaut.

The architects of the UFC brand did their best to construct a sport that would shy away from all of boxing’s perceived flaws. They wanted a fast-paced whirlwind of battle to hold the interest of even casual fans. But in turning a marathon into a 100 yard dash, they also ensured that the fans would be pretty much shielded from ever seeing the heart and soul of the fighter.

UFC fans simply don’t know what kind of warrior spirit most of their favorites have because the sport has been structured away from the long, grueling wars that have defined boxing over the last century or so. It’s easy for a skilled athlete to be tough for a couple of minutes at a time; The real test begins after exhaustion has set in and the fighter can no longer rely on pure athleticism.

It’s a sure thing that there are UFC stars just as mentally tough as Arturo Gatti or Jake LaMotta, but the fans will never be allowed to see that side of their MMA stars. The UFC bouts are designed to be short and quick, appealing to the diminishing attention span of the American public.

As a result, the fans have no idea whether a “Baddest Man on the Planet” is simply a tough-looking poser or a true warrior. In boxing, the truth always comes out and pretenders are well-exposed long before reaching superstar status.

This also points to the fact that, honestly, much of the motor power of the UFC machine is really nothing more than good, old-fashioned marketing. Cain Velasquez exposed that fact by easily peeling back the veneer of the Brock Lesnar hype machine.

The fact of the matter was that Dana White and the UFC were selling Brock Lesnar as a superstar before he had ever proven himself as a fighter. Even despite a loss in his UFC debut, Lesnar was heavily marketed and promoted right into a title victory two fights later.

Despite boxing’s problems (and there are many), we’d never see US Olympic Medalist, Deontay Wilder get to a world title without first earning his way to the top. And even if he did somehow get that shortcut to the top, you could expect him to be easily battered senseless by fighters who are actually battle-hardened veterans.

In the UFC, an untested and undeserving Brock Lesnar not only became a superstar world champ, but the figurehead of the entire company. He rolled through two defenses before finding someone who could nullify the one thing he could actually do well and he simply lacked the ability or desire to dig deep down inside when the blood started to flow.

This begs the question of whether Brock Lesnar’s rise to the top was a product of an embarrassingly shallow talent pool in the UFC roster or the overriding genius of Dana White to market an inferior product to the masses. Maybe it’s both.

Woman's Are Biggest Foodaholic

Biggest FoodaholicAnd you thought your kids were picky, with their breaded-food obsessions and unwillingness to eat anything green. Author Nicole Krauss reflects on her intense childhood battle with almost everything edible—and how she has come to terms with what’s on her plate.
In the stories my parents tell about our early years, my brother always appears wielding a chicken thigh in his hand (a polke, as it is called in the language of Jewish mothers), swallowing wedges of grapefruit whole without puckering, calling for more brisket, deboning fish with one arm behind his back—all before the age of nine months. And then, a year later, I arrive on the scene, the hunger artist in a hair-shirt onesie, refusing, with a gleam in her eye, to eat. My mother became so worried that she took me to the doctor, who prescribed a course of pickles to stimulate my desire for food. (The remedy backfired: I still didn’t eat, but 20 years later, once I was all grown up and living on my own, I would survive for many days on jars of pickles alone.)

Of the anecdotes my parents tell about me as a child, most concern my legendary lack of appetite; the rest involve my stubbornness. My unwillingness to eat baffled them—I’d like to think that in some way it even impressed them. Whatever the case, from the start they didn’t know quite what to do with me, and this refusal became the first story in the story of my life.

Guinness World Records For World's Shortest Men

In this corner, measuring in at 27 inches tall, Edward Nino Hernandez -- newly declared "world's shortest man" by Guinness World Records.

And in this corner, coming in at 22 inches tall, we have the challenger: Khagendra Thapa Magar.

It's not much of a challenge -- once he turns 18 next month and the measurements are official, Khagendra is certain to knock his little rival from his high perch and take the title of "world's smallest man."

The 10-pound Nepali dynamo visited New York City to promote the Ripley's newest book of oddities, "Enter If You Dare."

As I wrote at AOL News, Magar eats just 3.5 ounces of food each day, which is roughly equivalent to two chocolate bars. He weighs as much as a cat, and is only a little taller than a newborn -- if a newborn could stand.

Doctors haven't figured out why this karate-loving dance machine is so small, but it's believed to be a pituitary gland disorder.

You can see more of Magar and other world record holders in my special gallery, New World Records.
